An individually paced, hands-on learning experience designed for children, our Casa program is where children learn and grow at their own pace.
At Shining Stars Montessori, we offer two Casa classrooms.

An individually paced, hands-on learning experience designed for children.
An enriched classroom environment
The classroom is divided up into 5 areas, language, math, sensory, culture and practical life. We also have arts and crafts, dramatic play and music section. Once a week, we also introduce them to French with our specialized teacher.
Concentration, coordination, logical thought
Our curriculum prepares the child for kindergarten by allowing them to explore different learning areas and becoming familiar with language and math concepts.
They will learn how to hold a pencil, write their alphabets and numbers, phonetic sounds, constructing 3-4 letter words and early reading. In math, they will get a solid foundation through experiential learning.
The Montessori Method
Maria Montessori believed that self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play along with a highly trained teacher who can guide with age-appropriate activities leads a child to develop to their full potential. Experiential learning leads to a deeper understanding of language, math, science, social interactions and much more.
Our Casa program will:
- Promote functional independence through repetition of tasks and self-regulation
- Encourage social development through gentle, clear communication and natural consequences
- Refinement of sensory perception and the development of literacy and mathematical understanding through a variety of materials
- Offer imaginative exploration leading to creative self-expression and confidence
Casa Room Activites

- Establishing healthy eating habits early!
Nutrition is key to healthy physical development, especially for young children. Our snack and lunch menu has been designed by a dietitian with your child’s developmental needs in mind.
Prepared fresh on-site daily, our food can be catered to meet many dietary needs (vegetarian and halal options available, no beef or pork served) and allergy requirements.
Our menu ensures the food we serve is not only nutritious, but delicious. Children love to eat here!
Parent teacher communication
We believe that in order for your child to be at his/her best, parents and teachers have to work together and communicate. As a parent, you can be sure that you will be provided updates and feedback throughout the year. There are two parent/teacher interviews in the year which gives us an opportunity to adjust learning plans and academic focus.
